Boston Celtics Take a 2-1 lead in the play-offs.

The Boston Celtics are keeping a firm grip on their play-off title as they edged into a 2-1 lead over the Chicago Bulls last night with a thumping 107-86 victory.

After winning one game apiece questions were being asked about the Celtics, especially as star player Kevin Garnett is sidelined with a knee injury. However, the Celtics asserted their authority last night in Chicago taking a comfortable lead forward to Game Four this Sunday.

Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo were the heroes, Pierce netting an impressive 24 points and Rondo adding a further 20. The Celtics dominated the game, ending the first quarter with an 11 point lead and doubling it to 22 at the end of the half.

Rondo was a worry for the game after spraining his ankle in Game 2, but he pulled through and gave a great performance as he hit eight out of 15 efforts at the hoop, snatched 11 rebounds and showed he’s a valuable team player with six assists.

Pierce was even better, and after underperforming in the first two games he went at the Bulls like a juggernaut, bagging 13 points in the first quarter. Talking to ESPN, Celtics coach Doc Rivers beamed: “I thought it was beautiful how he played”.

Sadly for fans of the Windy City outfit the Bulls put on a dismal display: “The way we came out and played, the result is not a shock,” said Chicago’s No.7 Ben Gordon.

The fourth game of the best of seven series comes to us on Sunday and if the Bulls are feeling a bit dejected perhaps they could gain some inspiration from this remarkable video found by the good people at the Metro. If you thought the Celtics could net some impressive shots, watch these guys…
