Singer sees off Hollywood competition to claim beauty crown.
British singer Cheryl Cole has bested Hollywood heavyweights Megan Fox and Jessica Alba to claim the crown as FHM’s sexiest woman in the world.
The Girls Aloud star, who has blossomed as a mentor under the watchful eye of American Idol and X-Factor judge Simon Cowell, was the first British woman to win the poll in three years.
Mrs Cole was in fine company this year, with 24 star Elisha Cuthbert, Smallville actress Kristin Kreuk and Brazilian model Adriana Lima all making the top 10.
Fellow British stunner Anna Friel entered the list at number nine this year after the success of hit American show Pushing Daises. The top ten also welcomed Asian honey Freida Pinto, star of the universally adored Oscar smash, Slumdog Millionaire.
Last year’s winner, Transformers hottie Megan Fox had to settle for second this year, but with the second instalment of the Transformers franchise, Revenge of the Fallen due out later this year, there is no doubt that Ms Fox will remain highly popular in the polls. Jessica Alba, who last year pipped to the poll position by Megan Fox came in a very respectable third.
This year’s comeback Queen was the Princess of Pop herself Britney Spears. Britney has had a tough 12 months but was voted number four in the list after a disappointing drop to 31 last year.
