Dream Job 6 Months of bliss on Oz island
The Queensland Tourist Board are looking for the ideal candidate to spend 6 months on Hamilton Island (Great Barrier Reef) reporting via video link and online blog on just what life on the Island is like.
The job offer is part of a drive by the Queens land Tourism Board to “highlight the islands of the Great Barrier Reef and showcase Australias unique Island experience to the Global Market,” said Anthony Hayes, head of Queensland Tourism. With a great personality expressed in using the blog and video diary in a “new and arresting and inventive” way, Roger James of the AMI (Australian Marketing Institute) suggests that advertising of this nature “may be an absolute huge hit.”
The lucky candidate will receive £70,000 per month, a villa overlooking the ocean and all expenses paid, for a minimum of 12 hours work per month. Onerous aspects of the job will include feeding turtles, whale-watching..If this is sounding like just the job for you of the lazy mindset, forget it! “A zest for life” is key! All manner of water sports including kayaking and diving a part of life on the Island and no vehicular transport allowed. So fitness will probably be a priority when the final winner, out of 11 potential candidates who actually make the interview stage in Australia, is chosen.
