Jackson Earth Song Robs Beyoncé of GRAMMY Glory

Jackson Earth Song Robs Beyoncé of GRAMMY Glory

Earth Song performance overshadows record six awards for R&B singer.

R&B superstar Beyoncé made history last night as she won six GRAMMY Awards, achieving more GRAMMY success than any female solo artist has ever managed in a single year.

Beyoncé took the awards for Song of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best R&B Song, Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance and Best Contemporary R&B Album.

Speaking of her unrivalled success, the singer said at the Los Angeles award ceremony: “This has been such an amazing night for me and I’d like to thank the GRAMMYs”. Beyoncé now has 16 awards in total including her three GRAMMYs from her days with Destiny’s Child.

As expected though, even Beyoncé’s stunning triumph for another glittering year in music was overshadowed by Michael Jackson‘s show-stealing performance of Earth Song in 3D. The performance originally planned for Jackson’s This Is It tour was supported with accompanying vocals from Celine Dion, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood and Smokey Robinson.

Jackson’s children, Prince Michael and Paris were introduced by Lionel Richie after the performance. “We would like to thank God for watching over us for the past seven months and also our grandma and grandpa for their love and support,” Prince Michael said.

“Our father was always concerned about the planet and humanity, through all his hard work and dedication he has helped through many charities and donated to all of them, Through all his songs, his message was simple: love. We will continue to spread his message and help the world,” quoted the Daily Mail.

Performances from the evening are being made available for download with proceeds going to Haiti after the earthquake disaster.

I don’t think Beyoncé minds one bit. I saw how moved she was – she TOTALLY loves Michael. She was also very moved when his children spoke. One of the reason Beyoncé is loved so much is because she is a real person, and she is humble. Just like when she gave Taylor Swift the stage to have a chance to give her acceptance speech after Kanye West took the mike from her and stole her time. She is a beautiful person.

They all know Michael is one of the best ever. I am so glad they did Earth Song. It’s an incredible anthem. And there is love for him to counteract so much hate and prejudice. Finally, justice for Michael Jackson.

There was some great entertainment put up for the Grammys show. This does not take away from the awards given in the show. Congratulations to all the winners!
