Match of the Titans ruined for Arizona cable viewers.

Arizona American Football fans got quite a shock as they watched last night’s Super Bowl, and not just because their team snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

The Arizona Cardinals were 23-20 up against the Pittsburgh Steelers when the live sports coverage was interrupted after a crucial touchdown with a clip from a pornographic film. The blue movie clip was broadcast on KVOA-TV to viewers in the Tucson area.

The short clip was terminated as soon as cable producers saw the error that had occurred, but not before thousands of Cardinals’ fans hat witnessed a female porn star unzipping a man’s trousers before he “did his little dance with everything hanging out,” according to one local who spoke to the Arizona Daily Star.

The controversial footage sparked outrage not just because of the illicit content but also because it interrupted one of the most tense and exciting Super Bowl showdowns in history. The Pittsburgh Steelers looked to have the match all sown up by the third quarter with an impressive 13 point lead.

No team has ever overturned a ten point deficit in the Super Bowl’s 43 year history. In an amazing display of will and determination, the Cardinals came back with 16 straight points unanswered to peg the Steelers back to 23-20.

In a dramatic finale, the Steelers took one final touchdown to win the game 23-27, securing their sixth Super Bowl title and re-writing the history books along the way. No team has ever won more than five Super Bowl titles until last night.

Steelers’ owner Dan Rooney said: “This group of young players are just marvellous. We had the toughest schedule in the league. I would like to thank president Obama and all of Steeler nation for supporting us through the year.”

Quite how a pornographic clip managed to slip into the live broadcast of the epic match is unknown. According to the BBC, KVOA’s president Gary Nielsen said: “KVOA will investigate what happened and make sure our viewers get answers”.
