Google’s smartphone has had pricing details leaked on the web.
Reports have been leaked on the internet surrounding the much anticipated Google Nexus One, Google’s very own iPhone-killer.
Scant hours after Google had announced an Android media event to be held next week at the Mountain View campus on 5 January, leaks posted on Gizmodo confirmed a pricing package and other Nexus One secrets ahead of Google’s official announcement.
Whilst the Android media event was by no means certain to unveil the Nexus One phone, fans and analysts agree that Google’s staging of the event was placed strategically to officially launch its hugely awaited smartphone.
Gizmodo revealed that Google’s phone would include two different price packages. The first was a subsidised T-Mobile edition which would be available for $180 (£111) and the second unlocked version would be available directly from Google for $530 (£327).
The cheaper phone would lock customers in to a two-year deal with T-Mobile, which would offer 500 minutes of talk, unlimited texting and internet browsing for just under $80 (£50) a month. Much like with the original iPhone though, consumers buying into a lengthy contract may be disappointed when the inevitable upgrade comes after just 12 months and they are stuck with the outmoded phone.
Whilst $530 might seem steep for an unlocked phone, the price tag is unlikely to deter gadget geeks and techbods desperate for the latest technological advancement. Moreover, the unlocked version will give customers the freedom to pick and choose contracts as they wish, as well as having the option to upgrade earlier when Nexus Two hits the shelves.

I have an iPhone with AT&T and I hate it. I have the 32GB that was $300.00 but I don’t have 3G where I live or where I work. I am looking for something better.
