Rap Star Lil Wayne Sentenced to Year in Jail for Firearm Possession
Courts finally sentence rapper Dwayne Carter after drawn out three year trial.
Rapper Lil Wayne was sentenced yesterday for possession of loaded firearm on a tour bus three years ago – artist faces a year in jail for his crime.
Dwayne Carter, better known as his rapping alias Lil Wayne is one of the most celebrated and commercially lucrative artists of the last five years.

However, fame and fortune could not help the star as he arrived in court earlier today in baggy jeans and a hoodie. The singer’s casual demeanour did nothing to cover the seriousness of the offense; a fully loaded .40 calibre semi-automatic weapon was discovered in his possession whilst on tour in 2007.
When the hearing began last year in October, Lil Wayne did not deny the charges against him and pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a firearm. In a fairly open-and-shut case, sentencing had been delayed to allow Mr Carter the opportunity to have dental work done to his bejewelled teeth.

As he finally appeared in the Manhattan courtroom to be sentenced, Lil “Weezy” Wayne was told he will serve a year behind bars. It is likely that the rap star will be put in New York’s Riker Island prison although he will be kept separate from other inmates because of his fame.
Lil Wayne is responsible for the biggest selling album in the States in 2008, and last year received four GRAMMY awards for The Carter III. Despite his jail sentence, the artist revealed that he plans to write and release new material whilst serving his time.
In a defiant Twitter message he wrote: “Law is mind without reason… I’ll return.”

Dude, I wish you well on your journey to Hell and I hope you’ll come back… as the same motherfucker I feel & dig…
Bitch.
You’re a goon.
