Resident Evil 6 Viral Teaser Points to China Setting
Capcom has been putting teasing tendrils out into the web, including a video that reinforces suggestions that the next Resident Evil title will be set in China.
From warnings of impending apocalypse scrawled on walls, to a petrified video recording in a darkened room, Capcom has been gearing up for an announcement on Resident Evil 6 with a series of teasers. While it’s not yet been confirmed that the following video is the work of Capcom, witness the excellent acting of the petrified protagonist and see if it gives you Resident Evil shivers:
The gritty video’s lack of polish somehow makes it all the more chilling. In the YouTube description, the video contains a link the site NoHopeLeft, where a collection of videos and photos depicting the same strange symbol and phrase greet the visitor. The symbol is not unlike the biohazard warning logo that can be seen near dangerous chemicals. As “Biohazard” is the Japanese name given to the Resident Evil series, the connection becomes clear.
As seen in a number of the NoHopeLeft site’s images, the date 19.01.12 is visible next to the eerie symbol. So tomorrow should bring some sort of announcement. Whether it’s a major reveal or simply something equally cryptic, only time may tell!
Until then, make sure that you’re well supplied with weapons, ammo, magical colored herbs, card suit keys, plugs, differently shaped cranks and, of course, a trusty lock pick.
