Teslas Electric Car – Its like Greased Lightning
Finally, an eco-friendly car you wont be ashamed to look at.
Chances are, if you’ve heard about green cars the only cool thing they have going for them is the fact that they may help save the planet.
So far electric cars have been a bit of a disappointment. They are unreliable, take a week to charge up and have a top speed that would make your Granny groan that the car was too slow.
Now there is an eco-friendly car about to hit the road that you can truly be proud of. The new Tesla Roadster is sleek, sexy, powerful, and green!
The first thing you notice about the Roadster is it is a stunning piece of machinery. No awkward body shapes here, this is a sports car that will make eyes go wide for all the right reasons.
Tesla Motors, named after the ‘mad’ scientist, Nikola Tesla, has bucked the trend of the ‘sensible looking’ environmental car. Instead of a motorised baked bean can on wheels, they have created something truly desirable.
Tesla’s concept is one of the hottest creations on the market at this time. The Roadster is an electric car that can compete with the best petrol comparisons.
The Roadster will deliver exceptional performance with 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds. A full tank, or maybe that should be charge, will take the vehicle a repesctable 400 kms (244 miles).
The car tops out at just over 200 km/h (125 mph), an artificial restriction which has been legally imposed on a limiter. The battery life will last for five years, or 160,000 kilometres (100,000 miles), and to charge the battery to maximum capacity takes approximately 3.5 hours.
A car which is too good to be true? Well not quite. If you wish to purchase a new Tesla Roadster you may have to remortgage your house, or rob a bank.
At $109,000 (£75,000) the Roadster is not a cheap vehicle; expecially considering that is the base price before any extras are added.
The concept of an eco-friendly sports car is a brilliant one, let’s hope it just comes down in price once the technology becomes more mainstream.
