Thriller Entertainer Michael Jackson Dies

Tragic death of King of Pop from cardiac arrest.

Musical legend, pop icon and dancing revolutionary Michael Jackson died late last night aged 50 after being rushed to hospital in Los Angeles.

The singer suffered from a cardiac arrest which put him in a coma which proved fatal. Three hours after being admitted to hospital, Michael Jackson was confirmed dead.

The entertainer was just weeks away from making a hugely anticipated comeback with a collection of 50 concerts at The O2 arena in London. Despite questions raised over Jackson’s health and capability to last the duration of such a gruelling series of gigs, 1 million tickets for his “last ever” UK tour sold in a matter of hours.

In the last decade, Jackson had largely withdrawn from the public eye but was thrust into the limelight with accusations of child molestation. His later life is likely to be pushed to the background though as fans will remember Michael Jackson for the indelible mark he left on the music industry in his earlier life.

Jackson sold over 750 million albums worldwide, along the way winning 13 Grammy awards and countless other accolades for his achievements in music history.

Made famous for incredible songs like Billie Jean, Beat It, Bad and Man in the Mirror, Michael Jackson was acknowledged as one of the greatest entertainers of all time when he was admitted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice.

As well as his music, Jackson will be fondly remembered for his visual exuberance. The genius captured in his Thriller video continue to impress fans today and is still consistently voted as one of the best made MTV videos of all time, not to mention his outrageous moon walking, a move Jackson popularised in stage performances of Billie Jean.

Controversial to the end, Michael Jackson will not be forgotten easily, but his musical legacy will endure as his gift to heal the world.

I will always remember the King of Pop, the legendary Michael Jackson. That’s just sad, cause he died of cardiac arrest. Then he went into a coma and then hours later he was found to be dead. :( I will always remember him cause, even though I didn’t know his music, he will always be in my heart. Today should be known as infamous day or Michael Jackson’s day. But I’m sorry to those people who bought tickets to his concert a few weeks later in London. Now they won’t be able to see his comeback cause of what happened earlier this afternoon. June 25, 2009 one of the saddest days ever.

Life could have been different… you had your choices… but you cannot change your destiny!!!

    • Anonymous says:

How different could it have been for someone who was there from a very young age? I don’t think he had a choice as such, as this was the life he was born into. All of our destinies end the same way that’s for sure.

Like many of the world’s greatest music gifts, he lived a tragic life full of sadness and sorrow then died too young, and will live on as a legend.

I was completely devastated by the news of Michael passing away last night. I am totally gutted. He was and will always be the King of Pop and he will live on forever in our hearts and minds and his music will never die. I want to give my deepest sympathies to his family and friends and hope the media will leave his children alone during the saddest time in their lives. RIP Michael. xxx

I loved Michael Jackson, still do, and will appreciate him for years to come and he was the KING OF POP. He deserves to be treated with some respect no matter what he did in his time. He is a loved legand and I love his music. It is just amazing, beyond AMAZING BLOODY BRILLIANT!!!!!!
(I’M LISTENING TO HIM NOW AS WELL – FLIPPING BRILLIANT) xxxxxxxx

I know you had problems but in the words of ABBA: thank you for the memories, the joy of your singing!

  32. Anonymous says:

How come everyone seems to just forget all the dark rumours and allegations about him being a child abuser and bang on about how great his music was? His success was largely down to the genius of Quincy Jones – not his naff sparkly socks and shrieking crotch grabbing.

    • Anonymous says:

If nothing else, just respect the death, please. He is a legend, he was GREAT AND STILL IS AND WILL ALWAYS BE!!!!

  33. M.C x says:

So close to his comeback. I never much listened to his music; but I followed him as a person. Sleep well Michael. You’re with the angels now. X

  34. Anonymous says:

Are people forgetting what he did? Perhaps he never got convicted but he was guilty.

  35. Anonymous says:

A life destined to end before old age defeated you.

  36. Anonymous says:

All bad comments should be forgotten – let’s just remember there’s no-one to match the magic he possessed.

  37. Anonymous says:

Well it came around sooner than anyone had imagined, it’s a shame to lose such a icon in the music arena. RIP MJ.

  38. Carrie Ann Hawkins says:

I am so shocked and still can’t take it all in. Michael you were an inspiration to me and many others. My thoughts are with your children and your family. I hope you’re at peace now and maybe you will be left alone. RIP King of Pop. I love you and will never forget you!!!

  39. Anonymous says:

You were young when you first wowed everyone and that’s where this all began. People don’t realise how tough your life must have been. You made your own choices just like everybody else. You didn’t do anything wrong, bad things happened and you were proved to be above it all, and though all those fans wished to see you perform on stage, at least now they’ll know that you’re out of constant pain of the media and life itself. RIP the legend that was Michael Jackson!

  40. Anonymous says:

Rest in peace, you have left a wonderful legacy to all music lovers around the world.

  41. Anonymous says:

Now perhaps the children he came into contact with can sleep at night.

  42. Anonymous says:

I think this news is so sad, but what is more heartbreaking is the vile nasty comments that I keep seeing. This man was a legend whether or not you liked him. He made some silly mistakes but is responsible for some of the greatest music which is now part of our history, along with the fact he brought so much happiness to many. I remember many Michael moments. I think those being vile should show consideration for his 3 children, his many friends and his family. They have all lost someone they loved and that is always hard to deal with. We will all remember where we were when the news broke that the King of Pop was dead, just like for me when Diana died and for my parents, Elvis, JFK and John Lennon died.

    • Anonymous says:

I think kids like Macaulay Culkin “remember many Michael moments” too, permanently etched into their minds. That’s why they needed therapy and why people are posting “nasty” comments.

  43. Michelle says:

You were robbed of your childhood and people didn’t understand the pressures you had in your life with becoming famous. It is sad to think that only now you can rest in peace. May heaven give you the childhood you never had and Neverland will once again be there for you to enjoy. You gave many people joy when listening to your music and I am one of those people. My baby daughter has listened to your music for the first time this morning and started dancing along. Your music will live on forever! Fans will miss you. x

  44. Anonymous says:

Like the Disney character, you were the boy who didn’t grow up and we loved you for it. You were a very talented person and always put on a spectacular show. Rest in peace.

  45. Daniel Chijioke says:

You have enjoyed a thrilling and fulfilling career often marred by pathetic flaws that saw your undoing. The world knew you but did God?

  46. Zara Chandler says:

It’s such a sad time. I loved him so much when I listened to his music it was unbelievable. He had such a great voice and I felt so sorry for him for his childhood. He deserved better! He will always be in my heart and in my memory.

  47. Anonymous says:

A true legend. You will be truly missed.

  48. Anonymous says:

For everyone who reads this: quit moaning about what he did and did not do. The fact is Death should be respected and not joked with or taunted in any way. Critics, media and all that crap should go to Hell for taking a massive part in ruining Michael’s life. You’re all senseless and much so pathetic. Michael, we all take our hat off to you. Like someone said above, having you die is like losing Elvis all over again. God bless. As for everyone else who is attacking him on these threads just leave the guy alone to rest, you’re so stupid & self-centred – idiots.

  49. Anonymous says:

Michael Jackson we are going to miss you.

  50. MJ, Milan Jooste says:

MJ, live in peace on the other side of the rainbow. Love from your twelve-year-old fan from Holland.
