WoW Helps Complete Homework Quest

WoW has Book Smarts

A lucky World of Warcraft player has had his math homework problem solved by none other than the Game Masters who decided to lend a helping hand.

Usually the Game Masters (GMs) from the giant MMO World of Warcraft spend their time answering calls for help concerning bugged quests, lost items or getting stuck between a wall and an ornamental plant pot. However, solving complicated mathematical problems don’t usually fall within their purview.

Luckily for one WoW player, the mighty GMs decided to tap their great reservoirs of knowledge to help the intrepid adventurer on an arduous quest to finish their math homework. Usually the kind of number-crunching that WoW players are concerned with is figuring out the perfect mix of stats to make their character unstoppable, but this player’s concerns were slightly closer to Earth than Azeroth.

When submitting a help ticket to contact the WoW GMs, clear guidelines are laid out on what they can and can’t help you with, in order to cut down on time being wasted on both sides. However, it seems that Blizzard likes to reward a little ingenuity now and then.

Still, I wouldn’t count on using WoW as a one-stop homework shop. The GMs are busy people and are unlikely to translate a French reading assignment or write that critical analysis of “Catcher in the Rye” for you.

What’s the odds that this audacious scamp rolls a rogue? Only they could have the daring to come up with such a side-stepping maneuver!

Well obviously shopped… I don’t even have to run it through the analyzer to tell that much, but would be pretty funny..

  2. FingoMingo says:

WoW is just cool like that no matter how you cut it.

  3. mike says:

HOLY SHIT thats a hard problem, I thought it was algebra for a second there then critical points and restricted curves, thats definitly univeresty lvl math :D congrats on your achievment, 10 WoW points for you.

  4. Slatefield says:

Determined to be a fake (pulled from Yahoo! Answers)

    But still pretty funny :D

  5. Charle says:

A real trick would’ve been teaching him how to get laid.

  6. Eric says:

Real f**king awesome. Picture the person who submitted this did it as a joke and was shocked when they answered it. Must have been pumped when he actually got a response and realized he didn’t have to stop playing because his homework was done.

  7. Nicole says:

Yep, way f**kin awesome. When I read it I thought the same thing as Chabuba… imagine being the guy who submitted it, thinking the GM would just send something saying “don’t abuse the GM tool”, but actually getting an answer back. That GM is a pimp.

  8. Stephanie says:

I’ve gotten stuck to the point where I couldn’t log in with the stuck character. (boat dematerialized and every time I tried to log in it kicked me out) I had to contact GM through a different toon to get unstuck.

  9. Twiceasnice says:

Obviously fake because Blizzard GMs respond to your tickets via your chat box, not like that, and you can see the alterations in colour etc in text.

    If only…

  10. David says:

@ Twiceasnice : Not true – if you submit a ticket and they answer it while you’re logged out, you get the message box seen above. I’ve logged out on tickets several times before so I could go have a life while I waited.

  11. Kelor says:

I need one of those :D

  12. sby says:

umm… in a legit GM post ALWAYS directly addresses the player by the character name at the beginning (such as “Greetings, Bobby”) and ALWAYS includes the name of the GM who replied it. Player name may not be a necessity but the GM Name is a must for customer service rating reasons.

It would be really awesome if it were to be true, alas, the formatting of the message itself is a big give-away. sorry :/, fake.

  13. brian says:

That’s freakin sweet, I know who to tag for help for college math when I get there next quarter, lol.

  14. sby says:

Are you people 6 years old or something? There are clear indications which show that it’s fake. It’s an amusing joke and I liked the idea, but it’s so funny to down rate any message that states this very simple and apparent fact. I really don’t understand the reason behind refusing to accept this.

    • boo hoo tears says:

Stop being such a whiny little bitch. If you found the joke funny, then just enjoy it and move on. People probably know it’s fake. They’re not voting you down because they don’t want to believe it’s fake, they’re rating you down because you are saying nothing new.

You are just the same as people who post ‘fake and gay’ on YouTube comments.

      • sby says:

Really? So if the reason for down rating is saying nothing new, then I suggest you to down rate every single instance of “LOL so funny” message apart from the first one. If you just spare a second to see the pattern, any message that says that this is fake is down rated. Saying that it’s fake doesnt mean that I’m against it. It’s just stating a fact, pretty much the same way saying that it’s funny. It’s funny, yet it’s not true. That is all. Just use your brain sometimes, it might be an interesting experience.

For god’s sake check the link below and down-rate again if you like:

I don’t believe this. It is funny.
